Gershom Mott Williams


Gershom Mott Williams was elected first bishop of MarquetteNovember 1895 and consecratedMay 1896. He was on the commission appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury in pursuance of resolution 74 of the Lambeth Conference of 1908 on the relation of the Anglican Communion to the Church of Sweden and also translated the Doctrine of the Church of Sweden as to the Holy Ministry and the Constitution of the Church . He resigned October 1919. He diedApril 1923.
